To ban Facebook for this reason is naive. It is better to provide guidelines on how to conduct social networking in a risk aware mindset that to be a ostrich with its head in the sand and ban it. If Facebook is banned for reasons of security, you might as well also give the Windows the same treatment given its poor security history. The second reason about wasting time is even more intriguing. Let us assume that employees are wasting time! Why? Are they bored? Is their performance not being adequately managed? This begs the question that if Facebook is not there, then will another avenue be found for wasting time? Facebook is not the problem. Facebook is a framework for productivity enhancement. Facebook is a great training tool. Heck, I have learned more about the stock market with the virtual stock trading simulation on Facebook than I have out of any book! Facebook is a framework that will allow a company to add any type of application as a plug in. The interaction and collaboration opportunities are endless. The nature of interaction will allow performance improvement as colleagues can rate, encourage, coach, provide guidance and direction to each other. This ability has never existed before! Besides this the brand loyalty potential is mind blowing. In Facebook, future products will be made or broken as friends influence each other in their purchasing decisions. Within a short time, you will be Facebooking your private banker, instead of emailing him. You will be Facebooked you financial transaction notifications, instead of being emailed. It will be secure and you won't be wasting time. I have the feeling that the Facebook doomsayers are the same bunch of kluts who sold us down the Y2K garden path. For me they have cried "Wolf!", once too often. I have created two groups on Facebook including one called "Hansie is our hero!" The reason I mention this is that Facebook has created a virtual parallel in cyberspace of actual life. Thus in additional to the memorial wall to one of the greatest sporting heroes from my Alma mater, Grey College, there now exists a virtual one. And if you are one of those few Facebook denialists on the planent, please leave a comment below.
什么是谷歌搜索,Facebook是交互。
