Cisco announced a vulnerability on Internetwork Performance Monitor (IPM) today at the following URL: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/707/cisco-sa-20100120-ipm.shtml Internetwork Performance Monitor (IPM) is an add-on for the Cisco Works network management platform. IPM is a graphical utility that works very closely with service assurance agent (SAA) probes in a technology suite that Cisco now refers to as the IP SLA Measurement Toolkit. The IPM product aligns very closely with service provider SLA management especially the complicated SLAs that come with today's MPLS VPN services where enterprise customers are guaranteed different delay, jitter, and packet loss metrics based on the service provider Class of Service (CoS) applied to the traffic. SAA probes can be sent throughout the network to mimic real traffic profiles (e.g. voice, video, and data) ensuring that the network management packets are put in the appropriate traffic class. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_4/ip_sla/configuration/guide/hsla_c.html
