Brent's blog is an awesome resource and I wrote recently about his links to the Data Mining Add-in for Excel and using it for SQL performance monitoring. I am also going to follow many of the SQLCAT sessions based on good vibes from last year. Microsoft's SQL Customer Advisory Team work with real customers to make them successful with the latest release and come back with real-life experiences that we can all benefit from. See http://sqlcat.com . One such session is: "SQLCAT: Customer Experiences Deploying Data Warehouse Solutions using the FastTrack Architecture". I'll be there. A popular session will be "Advanced Failover Clustering Installation Techniques with SQL Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008" with Allan Hirt. Allan has written some great books on SQL Server and I am looking forward to hearing the latest on Clustering. This is a session where you need to be in the same room for the session before (whatever it is) in order to get a good seat! I've learnt the tricks over the years... Just writing this, the phrase "kid in a candy store" comes to mind. That's me, next week in Seattle. See you there. cheers Brian
